Happy October!! I don't know where September went, but we are definitely in the heart of fall; and I'm loving it.
Today I'm sharing a quick tour of the fall touches I've added to my home this season. I hope you love them!
For me, this season is all about neutral naturals: I love pumpkins, gourds, pinecones, and fall greenery. I also don't go crazy decorating, so I think these light changes help the transition from summer to flow easier. I think I'll add more festive pops of red and plaid towards Thanksgiving.
In the living room I swapped out my plant pots for these adorable pumpkin holders, I did a quick DIY blogpost about them that you can read here.
I also added some more cozy blankets to the couches and this basket, and topped it off with a fun fabric pumpkin.
On the ottoman I updated the look by adding a yummy "autumn leaves" scented candle, a gourd and pumpkin, and the wood bead garland. I love the contrast of the old books against the vegetables and the garland just adds a whimsical flair and ties the vignette together.
The biggest addition to my decor was the installation of floating shelves above our buffet. These aren't just a fall addition, but they allow me to rotate seasonal touches! I love the festive elements on display and I think this small space adds a lot of "autumn" to our home. The watercolor pumpkin printout is available from my Fall Printables blog post!
I also can't believe I wrote that chalkboard; y'all my handwriting is the WORST. But I've been practicing my brush lettering and when I think of it as "art" instead of "writing" I get a better result.
I think you can see the theme caries well into the dining space as well: old books, pumpkins, muted greenery.
The dining space has been decorated with a simple chicken feeder centerpiece. I have these available in the shop and I just love their rusted finish: it adds a great texture
What do you think? How do you add touches of fall to your home?
