12 Days of Christmas Series: Tecovas Boots

Ladies; I don't consider myself a fashionista, but there are a few things in my closet I couldnt live without: Including my cowboy boots. I currently have two pairs, the first pair I purchased when I was in high school- they were insanely expensive (I saved up all summer for them!) I've had them resoled once and wore them in my wedding!

The second pair are quickly becoming my shoes to wear. They are handmade from a company based out of Austin, TX- Tecovas Fine Bootmakers. This company wanted to fill the void- providing an amazing quality boot without breaking the bank.

The process of how these boots are made is really interesting; and you can watch the whole handmade process here

I know what you're thinking- I don't two-step, I don't have a farm...why do I need cowboy boots?

4 Reasons Everyone Needs a Good Pair of Boots:

  • Fashion: When properly cared for, a good pair of boots will last a long time. The beauty of cowboy boots is that it doesn’t take much to create a stylish outfit with them. They are so popular right now- especially in the fall. Quality leather speaks for itself, and they can instantly add value to an outfit. On the flip side, wearing boots with a dress can take it from a more formal look to everyday wear- making your own wardrobe do extra work!
  • Practicality: I've tried to be one of those women who wears heels: it doesn't work for me. I always wear my boots to antique stores and barns when looking for products to add to my collection. They're stylish and allow me to move, bend, run, and whatever else I need to do.
  • Durability: These boots are built for work! They won't fall apart if you step in the mud, they protect your feet, and get more comfortable with wear. A good pair of boots will last a long time if cared for properly.
  • Ease of wear: This one might be stretching it; but having a shoe that pulls on with no buckles or laces is awesome when running in and out of the house a few different times in an hour. (PS: Fun fact, originally, western boots were designed this way for safety- if a rider fell off his horse, the laces wouldn't get stuck and drag him along. ) Bonus: as the leather stretches to your foot, they become even more comfortable!
