I have terrible handwriting, but I'm determined to fix it! I've been practicing writing and dabbling in brush-stroke lettering (or calligraphy if you prefer) to attempt to gain more legible handwriting.
Since I've decided to put some more effort into my writing skills, the store I'm featuring today sells the most gorgeous stationery!
Ipanema Press creates beautiful designs for all occasions- weddings, business, and personal use. If you're interested in building a stationery suite, or if you have an event coming up- you should definitely get in touch to have them customize a design for you!
Unfortunately, it seems like the use of stationery in general is being superseded by electronic media.
In some ways, I can appreciate this: less spam/junk mail in our mailboxes cuts down on wastefulness and using trees for printing pages. In a world with access to anything within seconds, its nice to receive an instantaneous response to a question, or to look up a digital coupon while in the craft store.
But in contrast to those advantages, we've lost the art of letter writing and the emotion expressed in written communication.
Sending a hand-written note felt heartfelt, but sending it on fine stationery paper made it seem more personal and special. I think it says so much more to the recipient than a .50 cent card from the drug store. Stationery paper can truly say so much about the sender, it's a little piece of their personality and style attached to a message.
If you're just starting out and unsure if you want to build an entire personal stationery suite; I would suggest starting with correspondence cards. These flat, heavy cards are similar in size to a standard postcard, and are mailed in a matching envelope. They can be designed to suit your taste, with borders and your name or monogram. They are the perfect piece to send a short note, comment, or thank you. These all-purpose stationery cards could make the perfect holiday gift!
I suggest that you check with the recipient to confirm the personalization (their monogram or preferred name) . A miss spelled gift makes the stationery useless to the receiver- personalize it correctly to insure they will use it!
Ipanema Press is giving our lucky winner a box of "Thank You" stationary cards with envelopes!
